BOWL TO WIN!
Welcome to ZHS Bowling!
Students who are interested in participating on the FIRST EVER bowling team at ZHS are urged to see Mr. Smith for more information. Depending on how many students are competitive and try out, we will field boys and girls teams at both the "varsity" and "junior varsity" levels.
Bowling is a winter sport, and our Board of Education has agreed to sponsor it as a club sport. This means no money will be allocated to the team, but we will have fundraisers to help offset expenses. Parents and/or legal guardians will also be responsible for transportation as students will not be permitted to drive to away competitions. This also means, however, that bowling is exempt from the district's Transportation Fee.
ZHS will be a member of the South Central Ohio Conference. Other members include Lancaster, Lancaster Fisher Catholic, Logan, Chillicothe, Zane Trace and Unioto. The regular season will begin at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 29, with the Conference Kickoff Event at Tiki Lanes in Lancaster. Non-conference matches will be announced soon. Participants will be able to earn a varsity letter. ZHS Preseason Timeline:• TRYOUTS BEGIN on Monday, Nov. 17, at Sunrise Bowl. Keep watching for details.• OPEN LANES will be conducted on Sunday, Nov. 2, at Sunrise Bowl, starting at 2 p.m. All interested bowlers are invited to attend. The cost is $3 for three games, with free shoe rental. • ALL PAPERWORK and a completed physical are due to Mr. Smith before tryouts. These should be completed no later than Friday, Nov. 14.
